Cooking For 500 Kids Five Times A Week
These cooks, who are also parents of children attending Tharanikulam Ganesh School in Vavunya, prepare meals for 500 students five times a week. By cooking in the school, these women also receive food assistance for their families from WFP while their children go to school.
For A Bright Future
Twelve-year old Sellathurai Sutharshan started school at Tharanikulam Ganesh the same year WFP started its School Feeding Programme in Vavunya. His mother, who makes sure he goes to school every day, is a widow. "I try to do well in school for her", he says.
