Waiting For Rations
Women wait for WFP food assistance at Mugunga I camp for displaced people, outside North Kivu's capital, Goma. WFP distributed 15-day food rations to some 160,000 families in the Goma area fleeing the latest bout of fighting in eastern DRC.
Visiting The Camps
US philanthropist Howard G. Buffett checks out WFP food distributions to displaced people around Goma. A longtime visitor to eastern DRC, Buffett has supported a raft of environmental and development projects in the region. "It's incredibly important to get people home," he says of the tens of thousands of people displaced by the latest flareup of violence.
