World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

It was a beautiful Sunday morning to share with family and to support WFP’s fight against hunger and child malnutrition in El Salvador.

Over 4.000 children and their families came together on September 1 to participate in the Marathon Puch. For the third consecutive year, the Puch Marathon brings together entire families to join Pizza Hut and WFP to support the "Nourishing El Salvador" project and its efforts to reduce child undernutrition among children under 2 years of age.

Age does not matter for solidarity. A WFP staff and her mother show their support for this campaign aimed at raising public awareness about child under nutrition and about the importance of humanitarian assistance.

WFP Representative in El Salvador, Dorte Ellehammer, speaks with news reporters about learning and implementing good food and nutrition practices and its importance in the fight and eradication of hunger and undernutrition.

Thousands of children ran this September 1 in Pizza Hut’s third annual Marathon Puch in support of WFP.

Children unleashed their creativity as they stamped their prints as a token of their participation in the fight against hunger and malnutrition.

Fighting hunger and malnutrition also means learning about what we eat.

WFP staff also ran against hunger together with thousands of children during the Marathon on 1 September 2013.
