World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

WFP distributed during this weekend some 10 metric tons of High Energy Biscuits (HEBs) among 27 communities in El Salvador. These HEBs will cover the food needs of more than 7,500 people for 4 to 5 days.

Some children affected by floods in El Limón community, department of Usulután, eat ready-to-eat High Energy Biscuits (HEBs), which were delivered by WFP and Salvadorian authorities.

The community of El Icaco is completely flooded. Local residents need to use small boats to transport their belongings and the WFP food distributed this weekend.

This old woman is being evacuated to a local shelter in the community of El Icaco, department of Usulatán. She left behind her house and personal belongings except for her pet, a small parrot she carries on her shoulder.
