World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

This woman picks up her family ration at a distribution in Hebron in the West Bank.

The family ration, handed out through General Food Distributions, is composed of fortified wheat flour, pulses (chick peas), vitamin A-enriched vegetable oil, iodized salt and sugar. 

In 2012, WFP is providing food rations to 102,000 social hardship cases (poorest of the poor living under the deep poverty line) in the West Bank. 

Food distributions are carried out in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs.

This grandmother is a head of household, taking care of her handicapped brother, her widowed daughter and three children. She is waiting for the town car to help her take the food ration back home.
