Esther Consuelo Lorenzo Ramirez, widow (52) takes care of her two children Daniel (10) and Sandra (7) and her mother (78) whose hearing is impaired. In order to bring food home Consuelo sales “tortillas”, raises chickens and washes clothes. This is the second time this family is assisted by WFP.

Assistance will be provided to families who lost their crops work through food-for-asset programmes, in emergency preparedness and capacity building at community level in 20 departments of the country. WFP has also provided training for sanitation in homes and community as well as good hygiene practices, planting gardens and building organic composting.
