In emergency situations, both natural and man-made, WFP supports the people of Honduras by providing relief and early recovery support. WFP not only serves the immediate food needs of poor people who suffer from hunger, but provides much needed support before and after emergencies.
After prolonged heavy rains damaged crops and roads leading to their community, the members of this community in eastern Honduras found themselves facing a serious food shortage. Here, they are shown receiving emergency food aid from WFP.

This woman is working to make adobe bricks to rebuild homes damaged by severe flooding as part of WFP´s Food for Work activity. Through this activity, community members are given food in exchange for work on vital infrastructure projects.
