World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

This is Molly. You might have seen some of the videos she’s recorded of her life in the Mathare slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Here’s a look at a typical day in Molly’s World.

Molly wakes up every day at 5:30am to get ready for school. Her family is thankful that Molly has the opportunity to attend school, where she receives a nutritious lunch from WFP. 

Molly loves going to school and will proudly tell you that she rarely misses a day. 

Molly’s favorite subjects in school are math and science. She studies hard and hopes to be a nun one day. The importance of an education is clear to this young girl. As Molly says, “going to school is important because education is the key to success.”

In places like the Valley View Academy in Nairobi, WFP school meals are helping increase enrolment and promote regular attendance – especially for girls. 

And it’s working. Not only is Molly able to concentrate better in school, but more than half of her classmates are girls!

Molly’s future is bright thanks in part to WFP school meals. As for the present, she’s just having a lot of fun being a 13-year-old girl.
