World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

Since September 26, the FAO/WFP Crop and Food Security Assessment teams have travelled across nine DPR Korea provinces. As well as visiting households, farms, institutions and analyzing crop data, the teams also met with county officials to discuss local food production and availability.

An assessment team visiting Sariwon county in North Hwanghae Province uses a detailed questionnaire to collect information on food intake from people receiving WFP assistance, as well as those not currently enrolled in WFP programmes.

A major portion of the mission was spent speaking with farmers and local officials as the year's main harvest was returned.

One of the teams travelled to some of the flood-affected areas in Kaechon city of South Pyongan Province and witnessed the still-visible impact  of August's floods.
