Nutrition awareness and practice are not solely the tasks of women. This short video shows that men have a role to play to ensure women, especially when pregnant or breastfeeding, have all the nutrients they need for themselves and their babies, husbands do have a role to play.
In Laos, many infant and child care practices persist that prevent children from getting the nutrients they need during the critical first 1000 days of life. Feeding sticky rice to children younger than 6 months is one of the most widespread. In this video, a grandmother learns from her granddaughter that she should change this custom.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women needs a diverse and healthy diet with a good mix of staples, vegetables, fruit, meat and fish, calcium rich foods, and a little bit of fat. This video show how a grandma helps to ensure her grandchild gets all the nutrients it needs through the mother’s milk.
