World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

Women in the district of Berea have come together to improve the lives of young children by opening an Early Childhood and Development Centre, supported by WFP.   

As part of WFP's Country Programme, Early Childhood Development Centres are provided with a variety of foods to improve the health and well-being of the children attending them. 

Pre-primary school enrolment has increased with WFP food support,  ensuring that children are better prepared for primary education.

Through its Positive Deviance programme, WFP works to identify innovative local solutions to problematic issues...such as this simple sanitation project which promotes hand washing.

WFP supports 50,000 children in Early Childhood Care and Development centres throughout Lesotho. 

Breakfasts provided by WFP ensure that children have the nutrition and energy required to do well at school.
