World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

Malawi's President Bingu wa Mutharika has declared a national disaster. WFP welcomed this declaration, hoping it will prompt donors to step forward as soon as possible with contributions, preferably cash, before it is too late for many of those most at risk in the country.
