World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

WFP Logistics transports on average 50,000mt of food each year for various projects, and employs over 20 commercial transport companies to deliver food in the country. Primary commodities transported include corn-soya blend (Likuni Phala), maize, pulses, vegetable oil, and various non-food commodities.

WFP Malawi has warehouses in Blantyre and Lilongwe. The total storage capacity is 15,000mt during normal operations.  During scale-up or emergency operations, WFP can expand storage capacity using prefabricated storage structures.
 

WFP Malawi has own fleet of 15 specialized 4X4 trucks and two boats for delivery to most inaccessible areas, including lake and river operations in emergencies.
