WFP Uses Multiple Means Of Transportation To Deliver Food 1
WFP has partnered with local NGOs to deliver food commodities using boats, called “pinasses”, to vulnerable communities located along the river Niger. Waterways offer a more secure means of transportation to areas in the north of the country where the political and security situation remains volatile.

The arrival of food is a cause for celebration in Timbuktu, northern Mali. 4.6 million people are estimated to be at risk of food insecurity due to the ongoing food and nutritional crisis, and conflict.
