The Director of Plan International Michael Diamond and World Food Programme Representative Helmut W. Rauch signed an agreement for technical collaboration on nutrition and food security.

Through this agreement, both organisations will conduct work together on nutrition, education, and support of small farmers and on programmes to benefit the most vulnerable populations.

“We are very excited to make this agreement with WFP, through which we will deepen and expand the impact of the work of both organisations,” says Diamond.
Plan International’s Advisor on National Community Development and Economic Security, José Alfredo Betanco Silva, and Programme Manager Argentina Martínez were present. They were joined by WFP Programme Officer Rosario Sanabria.
“Through working together and leveraging the strengths of both organizations, we get better results for the Nicaraguan population,” says Rauch.
Among the first activities within the framework of this collaborative agreement is to strengthen resilience in households affected by drought and food shortages in the department of Madriz and communities located in the dry corridor of Nicaragua.
