Pakistan Flood Victims A Year Later: Benefiting From Food-For-Work
After living in a tent for 3 months following the floods in Pakistan, Mahera and his family are finally transitioning back to normal life. Though Mahera is a farmer by trade, the floods destroyed his crops so he is taking part in WFP's Food-For-Work program in order to support his wife and children. In exchange for repairing roads and constructing irrigation channels, he receives WFP food rations for his family, which include wheat, flour and oil. He is thankful for the assitance and says the family is "better off now".
