Philippines: Into Schools And Out Of Hunger -- Emergency School Feeding
Published on 7 February 2013
No Child Should Attend School Hungry
In the typhoon-affected areas, many people struggle to provide enough food for their families. Emergency School Feeding ensures that children, often the most vulnerable from a nutrition point of view, receive adequate food and nutrition.
Happy To Receive Support
Villiarosa, a mother of two boys from Compostela Valley, stands in a destroyed classroom. Her family, involved in banana planting before typhoon Pablo, lost their main source of livelihood since all banana plantations in the area were completely destroyed. They receive support in form of general food distributions and she now also helps to provide school meals for her two boys.
