French Navy escorts food to Somalia
Since the French Navy started escorting WFP shipments to Somalia, there has been no pirate attacks and four ships have safely unloaded life-saving food assistance on the southern Somali beach port of Merka. WFP is appealing to other naval powers to follow the French example.
