Food Vouchers A Win-Win For Syrian Refugees
During her visit to the Kilis refugee camp in Turkey, WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin went to a local food shop where Syrian families are using food vouchers to buy fresh produce, meat and cheese. The programme gives refugees the freedom to choose which foods to buy while giving a boost to the local economy. That makes it a "win-win" for both Syrian families and the host community in Turkey, Cousin said.
