World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

At a refugee camp in Lebanon, two Syrian boys collect food for their family from a WFP food distribution centre. This food will ensure that their family can have enough to eat for the oncoming winter.

Some 250,000 have fled Syria and found refuge in neighboring countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, and Iraq. Nearly 75% of refugees in Lebanon are women and children, like these two girls.

A young boy sits in his temporary home. Without food assistance, many times mothers and fathers have to skip meals in order to have enough to feed their children.

Thousands of refugees fled their homes with only the clothes on their backs. Welcoming hosts have done all they can to make new arrivals feel comfortable, including finding toys for the children.

When children first arrive at refugee camps they are often scared and hungry. Even the smallest smile from a young boy is a vast improvement from before.
