Paulina Pedo, 62, is from Nabokat village in Moroto district. She is the head of one of the 25,000 extremely vulnerable households in Uganda that WFP is assisting with relief food through the lean season. Extremely vulnerable households are those headed by children or elderly, chronically ill and disabled people. Paulina is a widow who cares for six orphans.
Beneficiaries from Paulina’s village are guided by WFP partners to receive their food as the distribution exercise gets underway. Extremely vulnerable households are often supported by their communities who provide food for them. However, it gets harder for their neighbours to help during the lean season.
