Life in the Camp
WFP Tanzania assists some 70,000 refugees through fortnightly general food distributions, providing rations of Super Cereal, pulses, fortified vegetable oil and salt to ensure refugees receive their minimum dietary requirement of 2,100 kilocalories per day.
Supporting Refugee Women and Children
Through a programme known as supplementary feeding, WFP provides targeted nutritional support to vulnerable members of the refugee community, including women and children. In 2012, some 7,000 pregnant and nursing women and children under 5 benefitted from supplementary feeding.
