WFP Burkina Faso Assists Refugees And Host Population In The Sahel Region 1
Approximately 60,000 Malian refugees have fled to Burkina Faso. Many fled by foot, bike or on donkey. 90% are currently in the Sahel region, already plagued by water and food scarcity. As part of its emergency response, WFP assists both the Malian refugees upon arrival as well as the host population already badly affected by the ongoing food crisis.

Thanks to donations WFP is able to assist both refugees and local populations in the Sahel region. Continued support of donors is needed to ensure lifesaving operations to respond to these combined crises.
