South Sudan: WFP Airlifts Food To Families In Jonglei State
WFP has begun airlifting food into Jonglei State, South Sudan following an outbreak of fighting between rival communities. Thousands of families have fled into the bush to escape the violence, where they have been surviving on whatever food they can find. Moving food into the area is extremely difficult due to the road conditions at this time of year, forcing WFP to conduct airlifts.
