Cargill has supported the World Food Programme for ten years to improve nutrition, health and educational opportunities for children in Central America, Africa and Asia. Over this timeframe, Cargill has contributed to projects focused on school meals, hygiene and sanitation, childhood nutrition, as well as emergency relief operations.
 
Thanks to Cargill’s contributions, WFP has not only been able to deliver school meals to thousands of children, but has also implemented programmes to improve school infrastructures and give children a clean and safe learning environment. 
 
In 2011, Cargill responded to the crisis in the Horn of Africa with a donation of 10,000 metric tonnes of rice—enough to feed nearly one million people for a month. This is the largest food donation by a company, ever.
 
Most recently, Cargill began to support school meals and fuel efficient stoves in Bolivia and is raising awareness of WFP's work there through its Truvia brand natural sweetener.
