Mahila Grah Udhyog, Pai Village.
The women of the village took pride in illustrating the various income generating activities undertaken in their village and explained what the various ctivities included from the cultivation of mushrooms, the collection of honey, silk production, the construction of marble tables with stone inlays and a flourmill to enable the local community to produce flour.
In the photo: After boiling the coccoons the next phase of silk production is to turn the extract into thread and rolling it into spools, this is done with a threading machine. The following phase is to dye the thread into the required colours.
