Headed by the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Guinea-Bissau, Mr. José Ramos-Horta, the joint mission of UNIOGBIS, WFP, UNFPA, African Union, British Parliament Permanent Commission for Peacebuilding in Guinea-Bissau, along with regional governmental representatives, traditional and community representatives, has visited Basic School in Fulacunda, which is being supported with daily school meals to students by WFP.
In Guinea-Bissau, WFP School feeding programme provides daily school meals to more than 85,000 students, in addition to providing quarterly Take Home Rations to 12,000 girls as an incentive so that their families can send them to school.
