Nomadic herders take their livestock to drink at a water hole on the northern edge of the southern Somali town of El Barde, 3 kilometres south of the border with Ethiopia. They said the rains had failed and malnutrition was increasing as people were running out of food because of rising food and fuel prices, insecurity and a succession of poor rains and harvests.
