Summary:

Fatima receives vitamin tablets to address micronutrient deficiencies as well as food to support her calorie intake. Afghanistan is one of the most food insecure countries in the world, with one quarter of its population suffering from malnutrition. In children aged under five, the rate of chronic malnutrition (stunting) is 40.9 percent and acute malnutrition (wasting) is 9.5 percent.
