Sri Lanka, Hambantota, January 2005
Hambantota, in southern Sri Lanka, was one of the most damaged areas in all of Sri Lanka. Many families left homeless by the disaster are now living with relatives and friends, often with 20 to 25 persons in one house. The poorest families are still struggling to recover. WFP food is delivered to food in nearby camps for the displaced.
