WFP policy papers can take two months to two years to draft. They must apply to a wide range of situations yet still marry reality to WFP's very specific objectives. They cover the organisation's apsproach to complex food aid issues such as:
  • the role of food aid in promoting social and economic development;
  • monetising food aid;
  • WFP's policy on food aid during the transition from conflict to peace.
