Overview

The foundations of WFP's fight against global hunger lie in our policy decisions. The details of these decisions can be found below in our Policy Papers and in our Strategic Plan (see below).

On this overview page you also have quick access to some of our most popular publications: Fact Sheets and Annual Reports.

You can find other key publications on global issues by clicking on the Corporate tab near the top right of this page. Policy and Outreach Papers

WFP policy papers lay out our thinking on key issues connected to our work. We also produce other policy-related reports and studies, offering important contributions to policy debates.

Fact Sheets

From local procurement to school meals, our Fact Sheets provide you with a rapid overview of the issues affecting WFP and its work to combat hunger.

Strategic Plans

The Strategic Plan sets the direction of WFP by establishing the organisation's strategic and management priorities in the four-year planning period. Strategic Plans are updated every two years.

Brochures

Get a solid overview of a subject with our downloadable brochures. They cover school meals, nutrition, women and hunger and a range of other issues key to WFP's work.

Speeches

As part of her work, WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin frequently gives speeches on hunger and the organisation's responses to it. Our Deputy Executive Directors do the same.

Annual Reports

The Annual Report takes a detailed but brief look at WFP's yearly activities. It is specifically targeted at the Executive Board, drawing the Board's attention to the key issues faced by WFP in the previous 12 months.

The FAIS database contains the most reliable and comprehensive data on food aid flows. It is a source of information for food aid actors, academics, the media and anyone interested in global efforts to eradicate hunger and malnutrition in a global perspective.
