WFP’s analysis of the latest food & non-food price data reveals that prices started surging in fragile and less shock-responsive areas of Iraq. In the context of COVID-19, social distancing, lockdown & curfew are reducing economic activity, negatively impacting upon vulnerable groups such as daily casual labourers & low-income workers. A health emergency is evolving into an economic emergency.
