With the presence of over 150 representatives from different Honduran associations, the President of Honduras Porfirio Lobo Sosa, and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Jacobo Regalado presented a plaque of recognition to WFP Representative Miguel Barreto for his support to agriculture in Honduras.
TEGUCIGALPA - In his speech President Lobo said the government was grateful to Miguel Barreto and his support through the World Food Programme (WFP) to thousands of small holder farmers and producers in the country. The President thanked him for all the support he has given during the four years of his administration as the head of the WFP Country Office in Honduras and wished him all the best in his new position as WFP Representative in Colombia.
Meanwhile Barreto thanked the President for the support he has received from the Government to run each of the programmes and projects implemented in the country, especially the School Feeding Programme, where 80% of the programme’s financial requirements are funded by the Government of Honduras.
