Videoclip: Kenyan Teacher Inspired By School Meals

Published on 29 June 2011

Meet Milicent. She has come back to the same school she attended as a child to teach children who are getting an education with the help of WFP school meals. Just like she did.

NAIROBI -- Milicent, a teacher at a school in Nairobi's Mathare slum, says the kids there perform better academically than those at other schools because they are given a free lunch. Having experienced this herself, when she was a student at the school, Milicent has seen the impact of schools meals both as a student and as a teacher.
