Moved by one student’s story of hope in a slum of Nairobi, Kenya, students at the ACS Egham International School outside of London joined together to fight hunger this World Food Day October 16th by raising money for the World Food Programme (WFP). Encouraging classmates and the community to fill cups with change, they raised over £300 (US$481) to help fund WFP school lunches for young people around the world.
As students across Canada went back to school this week, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) announced a C$25 million (US$25.5m) donation to the World Food Programme (WFP) to provide millions of their peers in 12 developing countries with school meals.
