With less than three weeks to the premiere of Catching Fire, the second installment in the Hunger Games trilogy, fans across the world are struggling to contain their excitement. While you wait, you can help fight hunger from your computer. In partnership with WFP and Feeding America, the Hunger Games website is devoted to educating fans about global hunger and encouraging donations for both hunger-fighting organizations.
Fighting hunger starts with raising awareness. The facts at the top of the website are easy to share with your networks on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. Don’t want to share one of those available? Tweet about hunger, the movie or the website using #IgniteTheFight. You can also donate to WFP from the link on the website.
If you’re in the United States, you can compete to win prizes tied to the book and film series. All you have to do is register your email address for the chance to win. Prizes include signed movie posters, a replica of a jacket worn in the movie and accessories like Katniss’ Mockingjay pin.
You can also purchase a limited edition Hunger Games t-shirt to support efforts against hunger. All proceeds of this shirt will benefit WFP and Feeding America. The shirt is designed by Trish Summerville, costume designer for Catching Fire. With the holidays approaching, this could be a great way to start your shopping!
