New Teaching Materials: World Food Day

School is in full swing, and the year is off to a great start! Just in time for World Food Day on October 16th, WFP is launching an exciting new school campaign, an online forum, and a whole new version of everyone’s favourite: Freerice 2.0! And, we have created a lesson plan to help you teach about some of this year’s major hunger crises.

Nearly a billion people worldwide are affected by hunger. Some regions are plagued by chronic hunger due to poor farming conditions or scarcity. Other regions develop immediate concerns following natural disasters or conflict. 

This lesson plan takes students through an overview of 3 countries affected by major hunger crises this year; Pakistan, Haiti, and Kyrgyzstan.
