How WFP Food Assistance Helps Prevent Spread Of Ebola

WFP provides food to more than 1 million people in Ebola-affected countries in West Africa. For hard-hit communities like this one in northern Liberia that has high Ebola-transmission rates, WFP assistance is vital to stopping the infection spread.

“WFP provides food to the people so they don’t have to go to the market, don’t have to go to the shop, don’t have to go to the fields. They can stay at home and have something to eat,” said WFP Regional Director Denise Brown.
