JOINT EXECUTIVE BOARD ACTIVITIES
The overarching principles
for the procedures and working methods of the governing
bodies is outlined in a series
of GA and ECOSOC
resolutions, most prominently in GA resolution 50/227 – Further
measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United
Nations in the economic, social and related fields. The origin of joint activities of the Executive Boards of
the UN funds and programmes lies with GA resolution 52/12 – Renewing
the United Nations: a programme for reform, which requested ECOSOC,
in the context of the next Triennial Policy Review, to consider arrangements
for closer integration of the governance oversight of WFP, UNDP,
UNFPA and UNICEF, bearing in mind the respective mandates of the
Executive Boards of the funds and programmes.

will be regularly updated as Joint Board business develops.
