The first phase of the West Africa Gender and Markets Initiative is comprised of a review of relevant secondary data and information, as well as tools and resources for assessing gender dynamics and empowerment in agricultural markets and value chains. The results informed the development of the case study research (detailed in the Country Case Studies Section) conducted during the second phase of the initiative.
