Increasing The Transfer Value – How Did It Go? (Nov-Dec 2015)

In November 2015, WFP more than doubled the Bamba Chakula transfer value for families in Kakuma, from 13.5 million Kenyan Shillings to 31.5 million. The increase in cash transfers has allowed WFP to resume full rations for refugees in smaller families, who had been more affected by the six-month ration cuts. Between August and December 2015, WFP transferred 108.3 million Kenyan Shillings - more than US$1 million - to Kakuma and markets there have remained stable.
