The Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme targeting children under-five has started for 15,000 children in Saraf Omra, North Darfur. Planned for over 300,000 children in Darfur, BSFP will run from April to August during the hunger and rainy season when malnutrition levels seasonally rise.

The rainy season has started in Sudan, with a heavy downpour reported in Abu Gebeiha, South Kordofan on 11 April. Many villages in remote parts of the country may become cut-off from road access. WFP is currently prepositioning over 37,000 mt of food in areas that are seasonally difficult to reach by road. The food prepositioning exercise is expected to be completed by early May.
