AMMAN – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) started today airlifting food for a total of 50,000 of the most vulnerable displaced people in Syria’s northeastern Al Hassakeh governorate as food deliveries by road are blocked and concern is rising about growing needs.

AMMAN – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomes a generous contribution of US$5 million from the Saudi Fund for Development, a government agency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, operating under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abduallah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The contribution will help provide food for thousands of internally-displaced Syrians affected by conflict in their country.
