WFP participated in a press conference in which KFC announced its plans to raise US$90.000 with the support of its Ecuadorian customers through the World Hunger Relief campaign this year. Funds will go to WFP projects in Ecuador.

Since 2007, the World Hunger Relief campaign has donated some USD85 million to the World Food Programme and other organizations engaged in the fight against hunger worldwide.

This is not the first time KFC in Ecuador supports World Food Programme. In February 2010, KFC donated USD40,000 to support WFP operations in Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that on 12 January 2010 killed hundreds of thousands of people, left more than 3 million affected and millions of dollars in damaged infraestructure.
