WFP Executive Director Attends World Economic Forum In Davos

ROME - The Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Ertharin Cousin, will attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, beginning on 23 January

The World Economic Forum is a unique event where innovative ideas and partnerships are born.  The gathering presents an important opportunity to advocate for the needs of nearly 900 million people suffering from chronic hunger.   

Cousin will meet political, economic and business leaders in Davos to explore new ways to leverage their expertise and resources in the fight against hunger.

On Wednesday, 23 January, Cousin, who recently visited Kilis refugee camp in Turkey, will take part in a joint press conference on the Syria humanitarian emergency with UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos.
