WFP Executive Director To Call For Greater Syria Funding At Kuwait Conference
KUWAIT CITY – The Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Ertharin Cousin, will attend the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria on Tuesday, 31 March, in Kuwait City to mobilize donor support and engage humanitarian partners in the long-term recovery and food security of the Syrian people.

Cousin is scheduled to meet Government officials, donor representatives and United Nations officials and representatives of WFP’s partner non-government organizations.

WFP has given a lifeline to close to 6 million displaced Syrians every month through providing food assistance, vouchers and electronic cards.  

Before her departure on Tuesday evening, Cousin will be available for media interviews at Bayan Palace.
