ROME – To make more progress in the fight against hunger, the world needs to make at-risk communities less vulnerable to climate shocks and other emergencies, the UN World Food Programme said today.

DHAKA – Representatives from government ministries, development partners, academia, thinktanks and UN agencies, are gathering in Dhaka today to discuss the role social safety nets play in addressing climate change, building community resilience and helping Bangladesh achieve the Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

BERLIN – Germany’s support for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is crucial for continued assistance to millions of Syrians inside and outside the country, said the UN agency today.

BAGHDAD – The German Government has provided the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Iraq with €17.5 million to address the food needs of Syrian refugees and to support returnees and vulnerable communities. Germany is currently the top donor to WFP’s programme in Iraq and has, for the past four years, consistently ranked among WFP Iraq’s top two donors.

ALGIERS – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomes a contribution of US$560,000 from the US State Department to support WFP’s innovative fish farm in Algeria’s Tindouf refugee camps.
