Transcript For 'Nepal Earthquake - WFP Expanding Relief Operation in Hardest Hit Areas (For the Media)'

Ertharin Cousin: We prepared for this disaster, so we are ahead of the game of providing the support that is necessary.  What we need is to continue to ensure that we receive the resources that are required, so that no person goes hungry and no person goes without the assistance that they need.

Bimala Tamang:  When the earthquake happened we hadn’t yet eaten. My husband and my son where fixing a light.  My daughter (Sangmaya) was inside and tried to escape,  but the house collapsed on her. The only reason she survived is because  her leg was caught and she was trapped under the stairs. We thought she was dead ... after 3 hours we heard her screaming and finally was rescued from the rubble.
