Food for Training project in Wardak province in central Afghanistan. 38 war-affected children (including child soldiers) being taught tailoring and carpentry in a project implemented by UNICEF in collaboration with WFP. In addition to vocational training, the boys are also taught to read and write.
Their new skills will allow them to fend for themselves and their families.Overall the project assists around 300 war-affected boys and girls in Wardak province.
WFP supplies each boy with a family ration of wheat, oil, pulses and salt each month during the 6-month course.
